A love letter to the ones who walked before us.
As a child growing up in the Alps, I felt an unspoken connection to the unseen. I would spend hours scavenging in the fields and the forest, uncovering bones, trinkets, and remnants from the past.
I didn’t know it then, but these objects held a deeper meaning for me, and I felt called to create altars, sacred spaces where I could honor something I couldn’t quite name.
The wisdom and sacredness I sought wasn’t passed down to me through my family—it had been lost through the religious persecution that erased pagan traditions. Yet, it was always within me, quietly guiding me.
Many of us feel this same deep connection to the sacred, even if we didn’t inherit it directly. As we move into this holy time of Samhain, we are reminded that we carry within us something far greater than ourselves.
We are the chosen ones from our ancestral lineage—the ones able to do the work they couldn’t, or were persecuted for.
The weight and wisdom of our ancestors live in our bones, our energetic fields, our beliefs, and in the very essence of our lives. But alongside that weight, they also carry the medicine, the gifts of healing and transformation.
Science offers us a way to understand this through the lens of epigenetics and morphic resonance. It’s not just our DNA that shapes us; the experiences, traumas, and wisdom of our ancestors are passed down through the energetic field that surrounds us.
This field holds emotional, environmental, and spiritual imprints from generations past. What we experience in this life is connected to those who came before us, and we hold the power to transmute those imprints, to release the trauma and bring healing not only to ourselves but to our entire lineage, backward AND forward.
This is where our true power lies. We are the ones who can transmute the shadows into light, who can break the cycles that our ancestors couldn’t.
We are the alchemists, capable of taking the heavy, dense energy of intergenerational trauma and transforming it into healing and freedom.
Through our own healing work, we lift the collective consciousness, not just for ourselves but for future generations.
It is no small task, and it requires immense courage. To dive into the depths of our own shadows, to confront the pain and the wounds that have been passed down to us, is one of the most courageous things we can do.
As highly sensitive souls, we are uniquely gifted with the ability to feel deeply what is unseen, to connect with the energies and emotions that others may overlook. This sensitivity is our strength, our medicine, and it is through this gift that we can do the work our ancestors began.
As we stand on the threshold of Samhain, this sacred time invites us to connect deeply with our ancestors and to honor the wisdom they carry within us.
Build an altar, light candles, and call in the presence of those who came before you. Use this time for shadow work, ancestor meditation, and reflection.
You are not alone on this journey—your ancestors walk beside you, offering their guidance and their blessings.
Each time you honor your authentic self and speak your truth, you liberate not just yourself but your ancestors.
The torch has been passed to you, and through you, their stories, their wisdom, and their healing continue.
You are the living embodiment of all who came before, and you hold the power to break the chains of the past and heal the wounds of generations.
So as Samhain approaches, take a moment to sit in stillness and connect with your lineage.
Honor their presence, their struggles, and their wisdom. Light a candle, offer a prayer, and remember that you are the chosen one.
You are the alchemist, here to transform, heal, and elevate the collective consciousness, here in the present.
May your ancestors walk with you, always.
With love and devotion to you & your lineage,
Fleur
A Prayer to Those Who Walked Before Me.
To my Ancestors,
You who have walked this earth before me, carving paths with your hands, your hearts, and your hopes, I offer my deepest gratitude. Your lives, your struggles, your triumphs—each of them is woven into the fabric of my being. You carried the weight of dreams I now hold, and because of you, I stand here today.
I honor the wisdom passed down through generations, even when it was spoken in silence, even when it was hidden in your most vulnerable moments. I honor the love you showed, even when it was hard to give or receive. Your perseverance through the cycles of life, through grief and joy, gives me strength. Your spirit lives on in me, in my breath, my blood, and my bones.
I walk this path not alone, but with you, always. I seek to honor the gifts you have given me by living with purpose, with compassion, and with reverence for the life you’ve enabled me to live.
This is my promise to you: to live a life worthy of your legacy, to carry forward the light you kindled, and to continue the journey you began, with love.
Forever in your footsteps.
